At a glance

  • What it is: house and flat removals across the whole of Haringey, run by a family-run firm with its own trained crews, quoted accurately after a free survey.
  • Typical timeline: a two-bed flat is usually a morning job. A three to four-bed house takes the full day.
  • How pricing works: free survey first, then an accurate written quote. Our published guide ranges give you a ballpark before you book, and the free survey fixes the exact price. A 10% deposit books the date and the balance is due after completion.
  • Coverage: all of Haringey, from Tottenham, the Harringay Ladder and Wood Green out to Hornsey, Bounds Green, the Highgate borders and the hill streets by Alexandra Palace, run from our Harlow base.
  • Insurance included: £50,000 of goods in transit cover on every move, in the quote as standard.
  • Response time: fill in the form or call 0207 846 0282 and we reply within one working day.
  • Booking lead time: two to three weeks is comfortable for most dates. Book earlier if your street needs a parking suspension, because Haringey asks for at least two weeks’ notice through its online account.

Haringey runs from the wooded ridges by Highgate and Alexandra Palace down to the Lea Valley, and the housing changes with the slope. The Victorian terraces of Tottenham, West Green and the Harringay Ladder - the streets that step down between Green Lanes and Wightman Road - run straight up to the pavement, and two generations of owners have added the loft conversions and rear extensions that come with an extra flight of stairs. Along the Wood Green high road the flats sit above the shops, with shared entrances and stairs that were never designed for a sofa. By the water at Tottenham Hale the new towers want moves booked with the management and the lift reserved. None of it is a problem when somebody has measured it in advance, which is exactly what our survey is for.

We are Aviv Removals, a family-run firm based in Harlow on the Essex border, and we carry out removals in Haringey and the streets around it every week. Adam, our owner, has been in the trade for more than fifteen years, and every job is run by one trained crew of our own. We do not use subcontractors, so the people who quote your home are the people who turn up on moving day, and everything from the first phone call to the last box follows the same house removals in London method we use across the capital.

Most Haringey removals start with the same simple step: fill in the form or call 0207 846 0282 and book a free guided video survey. We reply within one working day, we come back to you with an accurate written quote, and the price we agree is the price you pay.

What removals in Haringey cost

Most Haringey moves land in these ranges:

Home sizeTypical cost (inc VAT)
2-bedroom£480 - £960
3-bedroom£1,020 - £1,500
4-bedroom£1,500 - £2,100
5-bedroom£2,100 - £3,000

These are guides, not quotes. The accurate figure comes from seeing the move - a video call or WhatsApp walk-through, or an in-person survey for larger homes. The survey is free and the price we agree is set before the move. We start at two-bedroom homes - studios and one-bedroom moves are not taken on their own.

We do not publish a set price list. Every quote is set after a real survey of your home, because a Tottenham terrace with a loft done and a corner of the Ladder to park on is a different job from a flat above the Wood Green shops, even at the same bedroom count. What we can tell you is what drives the number up or down:

FactorWhat it does to your quote
Size of the propertyMore rooms means more volume, and volume decides the crew size and the vehicle. A two-bed flat and a four-bed terrace need different crews and rarely the same amount of time.
Stairs and accessA staircase that turns on every half landing, a loft conversion with a tight turn at the top, or a shared entrance above a shop front all add hours. The survey measures every flight and every turn, so nothing surprises anyone on the day.
Distance and routeMiles matter, and so does the hour. The A10 through Tottenham or Green Lanes at school-run time costs more of the day than the mileage suggests.
ParkingWhere the street is permit-zoned, a suspension needs an administration fee plus a daily rate per space, and two weeks’ notice. We flag it at survey so it is in the budget, not on an invoice afterwards.
ExtrasPacking, materials, dismantling, storage and appliance moves are all available. Some customers want the full service, some just want the heavy lifting. You choose, and it is priced into the same quote.

The accurate quote covers the whole job: the crew, the van, blankets and straps, insurance for your belongings, and fuel. Floor protection and furniture wrapping are part of how we work on every move, not extras you discover on the invoice.

Payment is straightforward. A 10% deposit at booking secures your date, and the balance is due after the move is complete, once everything is in and you have seen the job done. We take payment by bank transfer, card or cash, and the survey and the quote cost you nothing.

To give you a sense of job shapes rather than numbers we cannot honestly quote from a distance: a two-bed flat above the Wood Green high road, with a shared entrance to work round and one suspended bay outside, typically needs a morning crew. A four-bed Victorian terrace in Tottenham with the loft converted, a rear extension and a permit street where the bay needs holding for the day is a different shape of job altogether: bigger crew, larger lorry, two bays suspended and the full day. Your own quote will sit somewhere on that spectrum, and the survey is what places it.

How removals in Haringey work

Terrace staircase turns, shared entrances above the shops and kerb space on the controlled streets are all measured at survey, and where your street needs one, the parking suspension is booked before the lorry arrives.

Parking and access in Haringey

Street after street across the borough sits inside a Haringey controlled parking zone, and the operating hours differ from zone to zone. On a zoned street a removal lorry cannot legally wait in a resident bay during controlled hours, so the practical answer is a parking suspension: the council reserves the bays outside your home for the day. Reserve two bays, not one. A 7.5 tonne lorry takes up about a bay and a half on its own, and it needs room to work.

Haringey charges a daily fee of £80 per single car space, plus an administration fee of £280 for each suspension. You must have a council account and apply online, and the application needs to be in at least two weeks before the suspension starts. A separate road needs a separate application with its own administration fee, so a corner plot or a move that needs bays at both ends is worth flagging to us early. Two quirks catch people out. The suspension only applies during the zone’s controlled hours, and some zones run weekend controls, so check the hours for your street before you book the day around it. And if the date changes, the council wants to know by email at least eight working days before the suspension starts, or an extra fee can follow - a cancellation costs £75 once the application has been processed, and £145 once the boards are up. Removals are one of the council’s listed reasons for a suspension, and the Haringey Council parking suspension page takes the application and lists the current fees.

Applying is technically the resident’s job, because the council needs your details and payment. But you do not have to handle it alone. We will point you at the right page, tell you when to apply and roughly what it will cost, and if you would rather not deal with it at all, we help arrange the suspension with Haringey Council (council fee applies).

Not every street needs a suspension, and it is one of the first things we check at survey. If you do not need to pay the council, we will not book one. The big north-south roads, the A10 along Tottenham High Road, Seven Sisters Road and Archway Road among them, are TfL red routes, where Haringey does not suspend bays at all, so for addresses fronting them the plan is usually a side-road bay nearby rather than a suspension outside the door.

The street scene matters as much as the kerb. On the Ladder the streets are narrow and the terraces bring front doors straight onto the pavement, so the van parks level with the door or not at all and the survey counts every step. The terraces across Tottenham and Noel Park often carry loft conversions with a tight turn at the top, and wardrobes that went up in pieces come down the same way. Above the Wood Green shops the flats share a staircase with the retail units, and the loading plan works around delivery hours and the high-road footfall. At Tottenham Hale and the newer blocks by the wetlands the concierge books the lift and the loading runs to a window, and we flag all of it at survey so the booking is in your name before move day.

Why choose Aviv Removals

  • 5.0 on Google, across 160+ five-star reviews. That is the rating customers leave, not a claim we make about ourselves.
  • Insurance included as standard. £50,000 of goods in transit cover on every move, in the quote, not bolted on afterwards.
  • Accurate quotes after a real survey. The price we agree is the price you pay.
  • One trained crew, all the way through. No subcontractors, no day labour picked up on the morning.
  • An owner with more than fifteen years in the trade. Adam still runs the crews the way he ran them when he started.

That matters most in a borough that changes character every mile. Our crews work the terraces of Tottenham and the Ladder, the shop-front conversions in Wood Green, and the hill streets by Alexandra Palace on what is a normal week for us, not a one-off challenge. The same crew that surveys your home loads it, drives it and unpacks it.

Man and van in Haringey

Not every Haringey job needs a full crew and a convoy. A two-bed flat turning over between lettings in Wood Green. A garage clear-out before a house sale in Hornsey. One awkward item that will not fit in the car, let alone up a Ladder staircase. That is the work our man and van service exists for in Haringey, and it comes with none of the compromises the phrase usually implies. It is the smaller end of a proper removals company, run to the same standard as our man and van work across London: a trained, uniformed crew who do the lifting, not a driver who supervises.

The pricing works the same way as everything else on this page. We survey the job, quote it accurately, and where the job is genuinely the smaller thing it looks like, the quote sits at the bottom of the guide ranges above. And we will tell you honestly when it is not: a whole flat or a family house needs a bigger crew, more vehicles and a full survey, and pretending it fits one vanload is how moving days go wrong. Describe the job and we will tell you which one it is.

Areas we cover around Haringey

Haringey is one borough within our wider North London coverage. Within the borough itself we cover Wood Green, Tottenham, Seven Sisters, South Tottenham, Tottenham Hale, Bruce Grove, West Green, Harringay, Noel Park, Bounds Green, Hornsey, Stroud Green, the Highgate borders and the streets by Alexandra Palace, and the streets between them. Two Haringey neighbourhoods have pages of their own, because they move differently from the rest of the borough: removals in Crouch End covers the village between Hornsey and Highgate, and removals in Muswell Hill takes in the mansion blocks and the hill streets. Wherever you are heading, the same crew takes you from the first door to the last.

Storage and packing in Haringey (if you want them)

If your dates do not line up, your things go from your home into sealed 250 cu ft wooden containers at our own yard, just up the road from the borough. They are loaded once, in front of you, and kept sealed until you want them back, which means nothing is handled in and out of a shared warehouse on the way. Storage in London can be booked as the same job as the move, so one crew collects, stores and redelivers when your new home is ready.

If you would rather not face the boxes at all, our packing service covers everything from the whole house to just the kitchen. Full-house packing means we bring the materials, pack room by room, and everything arrives at the other end labelled by room. Kitchen-only packing suits people who want to handle their own clothes and books but would happily never wrap another plate. Both are optional extras, quoted alongside the move.

Common questions about removals in Haringey

How much do removals in Haringey cost?
It depends on the size of the property, access at both ends, the distance and the parking. A two-bed flat above the Wood Green high road and a four-bed terrace in Tottenham with a loft conversion are not the same job, so we do not pretend they share a price. After a free survey you get an accurate written quote that includes the crew, the van, insurance and fuel, with a 10% deposit to book and the balance after completion.
Do you cover all of Haringey?
Yes, the whole borough. Wood Green, Tottenham, Seven Sisters, South Tottenham, Tottenham Hale, Bruce Grove, West Green, Harringay, Noel Park, Bounds Green, Hornsey, Stroud Green, the Highgate borders and the streets by Alexandra Palace, Crouch End and Muswell Hill. If your street is in Haringey, we know it and we have almost certainly worked on it.
How far in advance should I book my Haringey move?
Two to three weeks is comfortable for most dates, and earlier for month-end or a summer weekend. If your street needs a parking suspension, build in more time, because Haringey wants applications in at least two weeks before the suspension starts, and the application runs through a council online account, so a little longer than the minimum is always safer.
Do I need a parking suspension for a removal van in Haringey?
On many streets, yes. Much of the borough sits inside a Haringey controlled parking zone, and a lorry cannot legally wait in a resident bay during controlled hours. The council charges a daily fee per car space plus an administration fee per suspension. We check your street at survey stage and tell you honestly whether you need one. You can apply to Haringey Council yourself, or we help arrange the suspension with Haringey Council (council fee applies).
Can you handle the terraces, the conversions and the towers?
Yes, they are normal work for us. The Victorian terraces across Tottenham and the Ladder bring front doors straight onto the street and stairs that turn on every half landing, the flats above the Wood Green shops share entrances with the retail units below, and the newer blocks at Tottenham Hale want moves booked with the building management and the lift reserved. We protect the floors and doorframes, bring the right number of crew for the stairs, and measure it all at survey.
What insurance is included?
Every move includes £50,000 of goods in transit cover as standard, in the quote rather than bolted on afterwards. We hold £1,000,000 of public liability cover as well. In practice the better protection is how we work. Floors and doorframes protected first, furniture wrapped before it lifts, and a single trained crew who know where every box is.
Do you offer storage in Haringey?
We do not store within the borough, but your things do not need to stay in Haringey. They go into sealed 250 cu ft wooden containers at our own yard, loaded once in front of you and kept sealed until you want them back. Storage can be booked as the same job as the move, with the same crew collecting and redelivering.
Can I pack my own boxes, or should I use your packing service?
Both work. Plenty of customers pack their own boxes and leave the furniture to us, which suits people who want to spread the packing across a few evenings. If you would rather not, our packing service covers everything from the whole house to just the kitchen, and it is quoted alongside the move so there is one price for the lot.
Do you do man and van jobs in Haringey?
Yes, as the smaller end of a proper removals company rather than a driver with a van. A man and van booking in Haringey gets the same trained, uniformed crew, the same surveyed accurate price and the same insurance as any other move, sitting at the bottom of the guide range when the job is genuinely small. Tell us what the job is and we will tell you honestly whether it needs one van or a full crew.
Do you dismantle and reassemble furniture?
Yes. Beds, wardrobes and tables that need taking apart to leave the building are dismantled on the day and reassembled in the right rooms at the other end. In the loft-converted terraces it is often the only way a wardrobe leaves the bedroom, and the survey picks up anything unusually complex so the time is in the accurate quote.
How do I get a quote for my Haringey move?
Fill in the form on this page or call 0207 846 0282. We reply within one working day, book your free survey, usually a guided video call of about twenty minutes, and follow it with an accurate written quote. The survey and the quote are both free and there is no obligation.
Do you cover moves out of Haringey, or out of London altogether?
Both. Haringey to another part of London is a normal day for us, and moves out towards Essex and Hertfordshire are regular runs from our Harlow base, up the Lea Valley corridor. We cover the whole of the UK and Europe as well, so if your Haringey move is the first leg of something longer, it is the same crew and the same accurate quote.
