Much of Stratford sits inside a Newham residential parking zone, and the operating hours differ from zone to zone, sometimes street by street. On a zoned street a collection lorry cannot legally wait in a resident bay, so where the kerb is controlled the practical answer is a parking suspension: the council reserves the bays outside your home for the day. Reserve two bays, not one. A 7.5 tonne lorry takes up about a bay and a half on its own, and it needs room to work.
