Container storage is the core of our storage operation. Everything we offer starts with the same unit: a heavy-duty wooden container built to our specification, sized for a home move, and sealed at your address so your goods are never decanted, sorted, or handled by anyone other than our crew.

The container, in detail

Each container is a sealed wooden box with lockable doors, a solid floor raised off the ground, and a roof that keeps the contents dry. The interior measures 250 cubic feet, which is enough volume to hold a Luton van’s worth of furniture and boxes. Beds, wardrobes, sofas, dining tables and a full household of boxes fit comfortably into one container.

Key specs:

• Construction. Heavy-duty timber frame with weatherproof cladding and a raised timber floor.
• Security. Lockable doors. The seal is applied at loading and inspected at return. The yard itself is fenced and monitored by CCTV around the clock.
• Condition. Dry, ventilated and raised off the ground to prevent moisture ingress from below.

The containers are built to our specification for furniture storage. The interior has no racking, no shelves and no internal fittings, which gives the loading crew full control over how each item is placed and padded.

What goes in and what stays out

The container is designed for household goods, furniture, white goods, books, clothing, boxes, sports equipment and similar items. We do not store items for multiple customers in the same container unless every load is physically separated with protective wrapping and clearly labelled, and a dedicated container is always available on request.

Items that cannot go in include:

• Hazardous or flammable materials
• Perishable food or plants
• Gas canisters, fuel, chemicals
• Illegal or prohibited goods

If you are storing a combination of standard household items and something unusual, ask us before loading. We have handled pianos in container storage before, for example, but the loading requires extra care and the container layout is planned around the instrument.

How a container booking works

The rate is per container per week, and you pay only for the weeks your goods are with us. Payment follows the same pattern as our moves: a 10% deposit at booking secures your collection date, and the balance is due after the job is complete. We take payment by bank transfer, card or cash. While your goods are on the move between your address and the yard, they travel under our goods in transit cover of £50,000, backed by £1,000,000 of public liability cover, and insurance for goods in storage is included in the storage price.

The way it works: one rate covers one sealed 250 cu ft container for one week, loaded by our crew at your address and stored at our own yard. Stay eight weeks or longer and the weekly rate drops to £15 + VAT, so longer gaps cost less per week than short ones. The rate includes the collection, the loading, the yard storage under 24 hour security and CCTV, and the redelivery, which run as one job with the same crew from start to finish. Insurance for goods in storage is included in the price, with no separate policy and nothing added at the end. Your final quote depends on how many containers you need and the access at both ends, and we fix it in the survey before anything moves.
